Privacy Policy

Last updated 18 September 2026

This is our first version, written in-house on 18 September 2026. A lawyer has not reviewed it yet, and anything shown as [SOMETHING TO FOLLOW] is not settled: it is written that way on purpose, so you can see what is missing instead of reading a blank.

Sunlo is a brand of Lauris Mesnil (sole trader), ABN 66 871 546 794. Postal address: NSW 2294, Australia [STREET ADDRESS TO FOLLOW]. Email: [CONTACT EMAIL TO FOLLOW].

This page says what we collect when you ask for solar or battery quotes, what we do with it, and who else sees it. We handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

What you type into the quote form:

What your browser sends when you submit the form, which we keep as proof of your consent and to catch abuse: your IP address, your browser's user-agent, the page you came from, and the campaign code in the link you clicked.

What we add afterwards: the approximate location of your postcode (from public ABS data, see Data sources below), notes from our call with you, the appointment we book for you, and whether the installer later told us the job went ahead.

We do not ask for, and do not want, your date of birth, your licence, your bank details or any government identifier. Please do not send them to us.

Why we collect it, and what we do with it

To call you, check what you need, and book an appointment with an installer who works in your area and is accredited.

To pass your enquiry to that installer so they can quote.

To keep our own records: which enquiry led to which appointment, whether the installer turned up, and whether they reported a sale, because that is how they are charged and how we check their work.

We do not sell your details, and we do not put you on a list that is sold.

Who we share it with

The installer we match you with. Today one enquiry goes to one installer; the consent you tick allows up to three, and we never go beyond that. The installer is under a written agreement with us: they may contact you about this enquiry and the sale that follows it, they may not use your details for anything else, and they may not pass them on.

The companies that run our tools:

Some of those companies are based outside Australia (Resend and Vercel are United States companies), so your details may be handled overseas by them. The database that holds your enquiry is in Sydney.

Anyone else only where the law requires it, or with your consent.

Being contacted, and stopping it

We keep the exact wording of the consent you ticked, with the date and time, because the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) asks us to be able to show it.

You can tell us to stop at any time: say so to whoever calls you, reply STOP to a text message, or email us. Marketing stops straight away. We will still contact you about an appointment you have already agreed to, unless you tell us to cancel it.

There is no unsubscribe link in our emails yet, because today we only email you about your own enquiry and your appointment. Before we send anything else, a one-click unsubscribe goes in first.

Calls

We do not record calls today. If we ever do, you will be told at the start of the call, and this page will say so before it happens.

How long we keep it

We keep your enquiry while we are working on it and afterwards as a record of what was agreed and charged. The exact period is not settled: [RETENTION PERIOD TO FOLLOW]. Ask us to delete your details and we will, unless we have to keep a record (an appointment that was charged, for instance) — and then we keep only that record.

Keeping it safe

Everything travels over HTTPS. The database is access-controlled row by row, so an installer can only ever read the enquiries given to them, and we keep an audit trail of what our own staff do. Nobody's password is stored in a form anyone can read.

No system is perfect. If something goes wrong in a way that could seriously harm you, we tell you and the Information Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.

Seeing, correcting or deleting what we hold

To have your details removed, use the "Remove my details" form at /delete-my-details: give the email address you gave us and we send a link; opening it removes them straight away. If you only ever gave us a phone number, ask on the same form and we call the number back to check it is you, because nothing else can prove a number is yours.

What is removed: your name, phone number, email address, any address you gave us, our notes, and the contents of every message between us. What stays: that an enquiry existed, its suburb and postcode, the dates, and whether an appointment happened — the record of what an installer was charged for, which names nobody.

The installer we introduced you to holds their own copy under their agreement with us: ask them directly, and tell us if they do not act.

To see or correct what we hold instead, email [CONTACT EMAIL TO FOLLOW]. We answer within 30 days, it costs you nothing, and if we cannot do what you ask we say why in writing.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no analytics script today. The only thing stored in your browser is what your browser needs to load the page.

If we add analytics or an advertising pixel, this page changes before they go live, and you will be asked first where the law requires it.

Complaints

Write to us first, at [CONTACT EMAIL TO FOLLOW] or Lauris Mesnil, NSW 2294, Australia [STREET ADDRESS TO FOLLOW]. We answer within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Changes

We will update this page when what we do changes, and the date at the top with it. Today: 18 September 2026.
